Resolve ORA 28043 – Enterprise User Security Issue

Other forums talk about regenerating wallet password through DBCA. But what we could see is that this issue came up after every interval of time (120 days) and so on.

The root cause for this is due to password policy on OID end. This is how we could resolve the issue:

  • Fix1 (Short Term): Go to OID and update password for cn=<your oracle sid>,cn=OracleContext,dc=mydomain,dc=com at attribute userPassword with value received from ORACLE.SECURITY.PASSWORD
  • Fix2 (Long Term): Go to OID and update password policy to not expire password by setting attribute pwdMaxAge to blank for  cn=default,cn=pwdPolicies,cn=common,cn=products,cn=oracleContext,DC=DOMAIN

This resolved the issue.
